Our Story
A Practice Built on Careful Reading
Praewa Group exists to offer adults in Thailand a quiet, methodical way of understanding their own household finances — without pressure, without products, and without jargon.
Back to HomeHow It Began
The Idea Behind Praewa Group
Praewa Group grew out of a simple observation: many adults approaching the middle decades of their lives have accumulated a good deal of financial experience — mortgages paid, children raised, careers built — yet find themselves without a clear, consolidated picture of where their household actually stands.
The group was founded in Bangkok in 2018 by a small team of financial educators and adult learning practitioners who had worked across Thailand's private and public sectors. They shared a conviction that what most people need is not more advice, but a better reading — a structured way of laying out their own numbers in a form they can actually work with.
The programmes we offer today reflect that founding conviction. Each workshop is built around a template, a printed document, and a facilitated session — not a lecture, but a working meeting in which participants move through their own financial picture with guidance alongside.
We are not affiliated with any bank, brokerage, or financial product provider. Our income comes from programme fees alone, which means our only interest is in the clarity of each participant's thinking.

How We Work
Standards We Hold to
Educational Integrity
Our facilitators present material as educators, not advisers. No programme session crosses into personal financial advice, product recommendation, or directed decision-making.
Participant Privacy
Worksheets and completed documents belong entirely to each participant. Praewa Group retains no copies of personal financial data produced during sessions.
Structured Methodology
Each programme follows a documented facilitation guide reviewed annually. The format is consistent across sessions so participants know what to expect at each stage.
Small Group Sizes
Sessions are capped to ensure the facilitator can spend meaningful time with each participant's own numbers. We do not run large-audience workshops or webinar formats.
No Commercial Affiliations
We receive no referral fees, commissions, or payments from any financial institution. This independence is deliberate and considered essential to the integrity of the programmes.
Annual Content Review
Programme materials are reviewed each year against changes in Thai Social Security regulations, provident fund rules, and relevant tax arrangements to keep the content current.
Our Values
Clarity, Patience, and Honest Working
Financial education for adults in mid-life is a particular kind of work. The participants who come to Praewa Group's sessions are not beginners — they have made real financial decisions across decades, and they bring both knowledge and habit to the table. What they often lack is not information but a clear, organised way of seeing their situation as a whole.
The ledger format at the centre of our approach is deliberate. A ledger does not make decisions; it sets out what is there. Working through a ledger-style document — income on one side, outgoings on the other, savings and forward-looking notes alongside — gives a person something tangible to look at, to question, and to return to. It is a different experience from being told what your situation means.
Praewa Group's facilitators are trained to work at the pace of the participant, not the pace of the syllabus. If a particular line item in a household summary raises a question that takes twenty minutes to work through carefully, that is twenty minutes well spent. We do not rush sessions toward conclusions.
The three programmes we currently offer — household numbers, currency reading, and retirement income — reflect the three areas where adults in Thailand at or approaching 40 most consistently tell us they want a clearer picture. Each programme stands independently; participants may attend any or all in whatever sequence suits their own situation.
